Captain Brad Bugica has dedicated his life to the craft of fishing, developing his skills from a young age and turning that early passion into a full-time profession. He first earned his California guide license in 1992 and officially stepped into guiding full time by 2006. Since then, Brad has become known for his deep understanding of Western fishing waters and for the reliable, educational experiences he delivers to his clients. His approach is hands-on and detail-oriented, whether guiding new anglers or helping seasoned fishermen refine their techniques.
With decades of experience behind him, Captain Brad specializes in targeting Lahontan Cutthroat Trout at Pyramid Lake, where his knowledge of seasonal fish behavior and lake conditions consistently leads to successful outings. From October through June, he guides clients through fly fishing, light tackle, jigging, trolling, and drift fishing methods—all adapted to suit the lake’s unique environment. Brad’s instruction is clear and practical, ensuring that each angler, regardless of experience level, leaves the trip with new insights and improved skills.
In addition to Pyramid Lake, Captain Brad also guides fishing trips on Lake Tahoe through his partner site, LakeTahoeFishingTrips.net. These charters offer exciting opportunities to target trout and salmon in one of the West's most iconic alpine lakes. Whether casting into the clear shallows of Tahoe or working the deeper zones of Pyramid Lake, Brad maintains the same high standard of service, safety, and attention to detail.
To support his guided trips, Captain Brad operates a custom 25' River Wild Alumaweld boat, designed specifically for comfort and performance on lakes. Built in 2014 and powered by a 250HP Yamaha engine, the vessel reaches speeds up to 35 knots and provides a smooth ride for up to six guests. The layout ensures plenty of space for gear, casting, and relaxation, making it a reliable and efficient platform for day trips on Pyramid Lake.
